The Awqaf Building was designed to serve as the headquarters of the Minsitry of Awqaf, the highest administrative level of Awqaf in Iraq. The building was constructed at the North Gate of the City of Baghdad, providing a meeting place for the Ministry's administrative councils. The building, designed around a courtyard plan, also incorporated aspects of climate control into the design process.
