The design concept established a series of buildings, enclosures and courtyards attached to the pedestrian walkway armatures which cross the site to create space and incidence to the pedestrian routes whilst releasing the maximum area of land for an intensively landscaped park. Within this concept all pedestrian and recreational functions were segregated from the vehicular movements necessary to service the development. The use of void and solid, light and shade, surface textures and planes with low maintenance materials were incorporated into the design of the building elements to reinforce this order all within the context of the Riyadh climate.
