Renovation of Building No. 1
Qazvin, Iran

The refurbishment project has transformed a derelict property into an office and home for the client. Designed over three floors, the office is located on ground, living space on the first, and bedroom and terrace on the second floor. The building form has not been altered but rather reformed. Floor plates are turned into open-plan spaces internally. The use of naturally finished clay-plaster walls, turquoise glazed tiles and lateritious colours have created a friendly interior. Externally the building facade is renovated with muted coloured cement render, and timber elements. The green roof and distinctive appearance attract much attention from passers-by.
