The hotel, located next to a palm grove on the borders of the Tunisian desert, is thematically arranged by typologies: piloti houses, troglodytes, and dunes. All are arranged in a type of village, and share common and open spaces. The piloti houses are elevated and oriented for their views. Inspired by the homes of the Matmata, the troglodytes are simple and unadorned. The dunes are constructed at sand level and are meant to feel as if sculpted by the wind. The architecture of the hotel aims to combine traditional materials with modern sensibilities.
