Salt Repository Medina Turgul DDB Headquarters
Istanbul, Türkiye

The 170-year-old Salt Repository has been extensively refurbished to meet the brief of an advertising agency. The project involved five separate but related companies with shared backroom operations connected by integrated spaces located on mezzanines and ten-metre-high galleries. These spaces include offices, meeting rooms, studio, library, dining and cafeteria facilities. The original stone construction has been restored and 1950s steel roof beams reinforced and painted white. A secondary steel and glass structure has been designed not to touch the original structure. Skylights provide daylight and exposed services run within roof trusses. The new environment has increased motivation and creativity.
