This functional house is formed by a simple four- sided geometry located to the left of the 6m x 15m site, ‘kiri’ meaning the direction ‘left’ in Indonesian. A variety of activities is allowed for on the ground floor, with flexible open-plan living space and mobile furniture. The upper level, fitted with built-in furniture, is designed as private accommodation. A side courtyard runs the length of the house providing light to both levels. Materials used include exposed concrete, timber, steel, perforated cement, ceramics and tile.
