A key concern of this project was to preserve the natural character of the site. All existing trees were retained, and their contours governed the building heights. Two blocks - one containing a multipurpose sports hall and fitness centre, the other with recreational and cultural facilities including a restaurant, exhibition halls, meeting rooms and auditorium - stand on opposite sides of a meadow. Patterns in their brick-facing create dynamic shadows on the wall surfaces through the day. For spatial continuity, the brick pattern is applied to both exterior and interior walls. Wood and copper complement the brick, likewise harmonising with the natural environment. A watch tower creates a visual landmark.
