The old airport in Sochi, built in 1945, was conceived to connect Sochi with the tourist resort at the Black Sea. However, the advent of the Olympic Games in 2014 has propelled the modernisation of this airport. With extensive runway reconstruction and refurbishment of the interior, it now counts itself as one of the world’s best airports. The interior concept is based on a graphic combination of walls, ceiling and floor textures.
