The Travellers Public Space
Melbourne, Australia

This is a permanent urban art installation of ten sculptures on the Sandridge Bridge, a relic from the industrial age, in Melbourne. The installation tells the story of the different immigrant groups to Melbourne and binds them together on the bridge. The sculptures move back and forth on the bridge, their routine regulated by a computer programme, and therefore function like 'an urban clock'. The project is the largest scale public art commission in Australia to date.
