This high school for 3000 day and boarding students is a franchise of the Delhi Public School brand. In the school and residential zones the aim was to provide a child-friendly and stimulating environment, with, for example, stairs and ramps treated in unusual ways to create brightly tiled or dramatic serpentine forms. The materials - Jaipur’s characteristic pink sandstone, which requires little maintenance - and design features - courtyards, overhangs, balconies - were chosen for their relevance to local tradition and to minimise construction and running costs. The main sports field forms a buffer with the nearby highway and provides a grand entrance.
