This old house was not only restored, but was also re-sited to provide a retreat for a new generation of the family it belonged to. After a survey of dilapidations and labelling of materials, the structure was dismantled and moved 50 metres, to gain some distance from a trunk road. Most of the materials in the timber post-and-beam structure were reused. The only non-original items are the concrete staircase, the timber flooring and a portion of the roof tiles. The single new addition is an open deck to the rear - a place to enjoy views of the orchard.
