The headquarters of Turkey's National Action Party 'strike a sensitive balance between the old and the new, in keeping with the party's political philosophy'. Elements of the old are to be found in the 'Seljuk-style' entrance portal, or in the Ottoman-inspired cupola of the Presidential Pavilion. The new resides in the high-tech construction. The facades of the reinforced concrete structure are finished in vertically striated, glass-reinforced precast concrete panels and in 'liquid plastic'. Alongside the administrative offices, the complex contains a range of social and cultural spaces, including a museum, café and library, which are designed to draw in the public.
