Sentul Park, covering 35 acres, is a conversion of a 9-hole golf course into a private gated community park. Part of a regeneration strategy for a rundown inner-city neighbourhood, it will in future serve the 25,000 residents of a planned high-rise development. In the meantime it is open to the public for general recreation and for concerts and outdoor theatre (the KL Performing Arts Centre is located at the fringe of the park). Materials used for the infrastructure are mass produced and, with the exception of steel, entirely local: they include clay bricks, recycled railway sleepers and industrial metal grates.
