The traditional Senegalese fishing village's forms and circulation systems are reinterpreted in the three 'micro-villages' that make up this Dance Centre. Different 'compartments' within the villages house different functions, including training facilities, performance spaces, meeting places and accommodation. The principal building material is honeycomb brick, a thermally efficient alternative to the more prevalent 'local' material, concrete.
