Wooden Sculpture Museum

Degirmendere, Türkiye

Part of a revitalisation programme for an area devastated by the 1999 Marmara earthquake, the Museum of Wooden Sculpture is itself conceived as a sculpture, built in concrete and covered with marble mosaics. A platform, also of concrete and mosaic, serves as an extension to the building: a place to exhibit sculptures, as well as a place for social gatherings.
