Turkey has a rich architectural heritage, but most of its listed buildings are owned by private individuals who lack the means to restore them. This project offers a model solution: an integrated approach towards conservation. In the case of Tarsus, the central government initiated the restoration of building facades and roofs, the municipality renewed the infrastructure, and house owners were encouraged to carry out further restoration inside.
