A school designed for children left destitute as a result of the 1999 earthquake. Financed in part by public organizations, local authorities and private contributors from the Netherlands, it is built with a reinforced concrete supporting structure to protect it from potential future damage. A terrazzo paved ramp leads to the entrance court, and then into the building and through to the enclosed courtyards and gardens. In addition to classrooms, there is a multipurpose hall and several staff rooms. Walls are plastered and painted white or left purposely transparent.
