Modern metro line serving the most densely inhabited districts of Izmir. The line stretches 11,5 km and comprises 10 stations. Each station is designed according to passenger flows, with particular importance given to safety -- specifically the risks of fire and earthquakes -- and ventilation. Stations are connected to the street level via elevators, escalators, and stairways, except for those stations whose ticket halls have been designed as overpasses owing to the high ground water table.
