Beyond restoring the built fabric of a historic ksar, the project aims at reinforcing the social structures required to sustain the place as a living community. The intervention encompasses the construction of a hammam and the restoration of three key structures: the central mosque, the casbah, and the tomb of the marabout Sidi Abdellah ben Ali. The works appear to have halted the exodus of the local population to a new village nearby. And, gradually, families who had already left are returning.
