The projects aim was to create an active commercial center in the city of Kairouan. As a result, an open space in front of the cultural center was allocated for the project, which consists of seven, single-storey buildings organised along a pedestrian street. The buildings are linked by a system of covered passageways that open into three small squares. The buildings contain the main tourist office, two banks, and 20 shops, cafes, and restaurants. The buildings are simple rectilinear volumes linked to each other by arched passages.
