"Organized within an irregularly shaped site in the Abbasiya section of Cairo, this mosque is set upon a high podium base to separate it from the busy streets that surround it, and angles back to create an equally irregular arcaded court that is used as an entry, for additional privacy." (constructed, but not in accordance with the architect's plans)
