Date: June 1, 1974
In this correspondence Fathy discusses the proposed location for the construction of The Wehda Mosque and Islamic Center in the Abbasiyya district of Cairo. The proposal was to build the mosque and center next to the garden adjacent to the shrine of Ahmad Mahir al-Naqrash as agreed upon by the residents of the district, however the governors proposal was to build it next to the shrine instead. In this memorandum, Fathy comprehensively presents the results of his topographical study of the area stating that he believed the best place for the planning and construction should be on a podium base separated from the street traffic surrounding it.
