The project brief of the Casablanca Finance City (CFC) Tower had four principal demands: anchor Casablanca-Anfa’s new Central Business District; lead the renewal of a new City Centre outside of the existing downtown core; symbolize the architectural renewal of Casablanca; and serve as a global design reference. The brief’s requirements also included 21,000 m2 of gross floor area; a 100-metre height limit; and headquarters for the CFC and the Central Bank of Morocco. The 25-story, 122-meter, 21,000 gross m² tower now holds the headquarters of the CFC and the Central Bank, as well as leasable office space for Moroccan and international companies. As the first building project designed and built in the new Finance City district, the CFC Tower accelerated the development of the new district and achieved the desired design excellence, e.g., LEED Gold status.
