Vlorë, a city of 100,000 residents, is located on the Adriatic Sea, and this project is the redevelopment of 3.8 km along the waterfront as public facilities for the inhabitants and tourists. The new outdoor spaces include an events plaza, an amphitheatre, a circular concrete island, and sports and playground areas, all of them connected by a landscaped pedestrian promenade and linking to both new and existing large parks with pine trees. Two beaches, covering over 13 hectares, were restored and improved and lead to a main public area containing a football pitch and three tennis and two basketball courts as well as a travertine-paved urban plaza. Extensive lighting, public furniture, and wide access stairs complement the programme.
