An adaptive reuse of a 1930s mansion as a community centre in an old residential neighborhood of Karachi, this project serves to remind people of the historic architectural fabric of the city, of which little remains today. The two-storey building with load-bearing stone walls and a reinforced concrete floor was carefully preserved, with original materials retained as far as possible. It now houses a cafe, a house museum with artifacts from pre-independence Karachi, as well as halls on the first floor that can be used for different activities.
