The Cube Residential Tower
Beirut, Lebanon

The 56-metre-tall apartment building is in Beirut’s eastern suburb of Sin el Fil; there are 21 apartments, each floor containing one or two units that range in size from 117 to 234 m2. The tower is constructed of perforated steel girders, and each apartment is organised around a central core - kitchen, bathrooms, wardrobes, cupboards, and elevator access - and the spaces around them are fluid and permit 360° views over Beirut. The client specifically requested an "expressive, iconic, and innovative building", and the architects employed the maximum building height, the maximum allowed building envelope, the maximum footprint, and maximized views and terraces for all apartments in their creation of "a unique and extravagant tower concept".
