The project seeks to promote rural development in Lebanon as a counter to increasing urban migration. Trails throughout the forested, hillside site provide hiking for the guests, and the heart of the new village is an existing farm structure refitted as a pottery workshop; 20 lodges provide one- to three-room guest accommodations in addition to six private guest houses; and a wellness centre, restaurants, and crafts and gift shops complete the ensemble. The structures are all built in local limestone by master masons and craftsmen; respect for the environment is evident throughout, and all trees were maintained. All of the buildings and installations are environmentally sustainable.
