This hotel with 180 guest rooms is set on the same parcel of land as an existing shopping centre that had been designed by the same architectural firm. Although the hotel is designed as a separate business, it uses transitional spaces to create connections to the old shopping centre; these areas also provide new spaces for retail and restaurants. The hotel entrance is located on the opposite side of the complex to the shopping centre’s main entrance, to maintain privacy. Similarly, the hotel corridors are placed on the side facing the shopping centre’s mechanical enclosure so hotel rooms can have an unobstructed, south facing view.
