Evliya Çelebi describes this place as follows: In the vicinity of Incirli, there are 300 houses with gardens by the sea. Next to it, there is Kanlıca, which has recently become a prosperous place. By the sea, there are beautiful houses with gardens and vineyards and serene waterfront mansions. There are no non-Muslims in this city. There are seven Muslim neighborhoods and seven mosques in total.
