Evliya Çelebi describes this tomb: Sultan Bayezid-i Veli [Bayezid II] was the son Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror who died in 918 [1512] at the town of Havsa in Edirne[. H]e is buried in Istanbul in front of the mihrab wall of his mosque within a paradise garden. The tomb (türbe) is in a garden on the grounds of the Bayezid Mosque, constructed between 1501 and 1506.
