Agadir of Mirleft
Mirleft, Morocco

The Agadir of Mirleft is a Spanish military fortress overlooking the village and offering sweeping views of the sea. Built in 1935, this site bears witness to the days when Morocco was colonized by the Spanish. One can see the Spanish influence in most hilly streets and buildings in the town. Spain continued to control Mirleft for 12 years after Morocco gained independence in 1957.
