The house of Hasan al-Kirbasi is a private house in Baghdad. It is one of the first projects of the celebrated Iraqi architect Rifat Chadirji. The house was finished in 1953. Like Chadirji's other residential projects, the house combines bold modern designs with ideas that have long traditions in the region. The plan of this home, for example, includes transitional spaces like screened porches and terraces that open the home to the surrounding gardens, while also helping to control the strong summer temperatures of Baghdad.
