Located near the Caspian Sea, Maneli Residential Complex caters to domestic and international tourists. Just 150 metres from the sea, it is close to recreational facilities: marine clubs, restaurants and fishing piers. Villas have a 25% footprint which allows an unusually large amount of space for greenery and open space. Using clay roof tiles, local cladding and traditional lively colours in the moderate, humid climate provides a contextually appropriate aspect to the compound. The plan typology is on a human scale, and work was created for local people (both in construction and maintenance). The project was brought in on a fairly low budget in consideration of the area and the large number of houses, yet the Complex is well-balanced between quality and cost.
