A studio to receive guests has been built in a traditional patio transformed over time so that of the original four rooms surrounding a patio, only two remain. The extension, on two levels above a garage, was conceived as a new volume rising on the only street frontage, aligned to the height of adjacent buildings and revealing the presence of the house. Guest access is independent via a new staircase leading to a terrace overlooking the patio and the house. The structure of the extension is a system of post and reinforced concrete beams with a filling of red perforated terracotta bricks, typical of Tunisia, and the finishings were all completed by local artisans.
