The 350 m2 ruins of an old administrative building, part of the National archive’s site landscaping project, has become a Museum which acts as a gathering spot and becomes a monument to urban space. The ruins turn into a gallery with a minimum of obstruction: functions within the building are visible though use of clear glass and fabric to cover the gallery. Creating a courtyard within the boundaries of the ruins makes a semi-public open space as a territorial volume in front of the gallery. More than a restoration project, the textile gallery is a continuum where the layers of history are apparent.
