The Islamic Center of Eastern Kentucky, or Masjid Al-Farooq, is a two-story rectangular plan 4,176-square foot mosque located in a residential area of Prestonsburg. It is a wood-framed building with synthetic stucco exterior finish and clad wood windows. The facade has arched bays with double sets of windows, with an entrance portico on the front facade and a projection for the mihrab on the rear. Inside, the prayer hall, office space, and an ablution area are on the upper level, and a multi-purpose room, two classrooms, a kitchen, and ablution space are on the lower level. The sloping site allowed the lower level to have many large windows. It was designed by McCoy Architects LLC of Lexington, KY.
