Turkish Pavilion
Sagae, Japan
The structure houses exhibitions of Turkish art and culture in an attempt to disseminate Turkish-Islamic traditions to a Japanese audience. The architect has tried to synthesise Ottoman architectural vocabulary with Japanese accents. The pavilion is a two-storey structure whose symmetrical plan defines a total space crowned by a central dome supported by eight columns.
