Al-Rukniyya is an Ayyubid structure constructed in the 13th century. The restoration consisted the following:
- study of the history and architectural style of the site and designing needed works;
- removing three meters of accumulated sediment which covered windows and some of the poots;
- arrangement of the court and the site and water drainage;
- reconstruction of a fallen dome and restoration of an existing one;
- addition of an Ayyubidi minaret; and
- restoration of the tomb.
