The Louisville Islamic Center is a purpose-built mosque established in 1980, located along the Ohio River on River Road. The rectangular-plan mosque is set on a forested lot with a parking area behind. It is stucco-faced with bands of ornament around the windows and along the roofline. The entrance to the mosque is located at ground level, but the rest of the mosque is elevated on stilts.
