Mohamed Makiya Archive - Notes from the Archives

The Mohamed Makiya Archive consists of an extremely wide range of materials documenting Makiya Associates, and aspects of the professional and personal life of Mohamed Makiya (1914-2015).  With this sub-collection of Notes from the Archives, the Collections Archivist of the Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT Libraries, Betsy Baldwin, intends to highlight some of what might be lesser known items, or groups of items in the Mohamed Makiya Archive, on a rotating basis.

Included here are a group of nine reproductions of drawings (diazotypes, prints, and/or photographs), measured and drawn by students and staff of the School of Architecture, Baghdad University, where Mohamed Makiya was one of the first professors of the school.  These prints were received together in a blue envelope labeled: Baghdad River Front Survey, as part of the Mohamed Makiya Archive.
