Besim Hakim, Iraqi born architect and urban planner, was photographed at his residence, in October 2017. I was very fortunate to travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to meet with him, to see some of his work, and in order to collect some twenty-six rolls of drawings, maps, and photographs, documenting his work and study of parts of North Africa over decades, which he has generously donated to the Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT Libraries (AKDC@MIT). I look forward to sharing more detail about and photographs of the Besim Hakim Archive now at AKDC@MIT, in the coming weeks and months. More will be forthcoming.
