Durri al-Saghir (Spanish Umayyad Courtier)

Al-Durri al-Saghir, also known as al-Durri al-Asghar, was a fata (enslaved man of high rank) at the court of Spanish Umayyad caliph al-Hakam II al-Mustansir bi'llah (r. 961-976/350-366 AH). Having risen through the ranks, Durri was manumited and given the name
