Walter Gropius

Walter Gropius is widely considered one of the pioneers and leading figures of Modernism in architecture. He is the founder of the Bauhaus School (Staatliches Bauhaus). His family fled to the United States during the rise of Hitler.  In 1946 he founded The Architects Collaborative in Cambridge, MA.
