Sayf al-Din Turumtay was a military commander (beylerbey) during the reign of Seljuq Sultan Kaykhusraw III (r. 1265-1282/663-681). He is known as an architectural patron through his works in Amasya, including a tomb and dervish lodge known today as Torumtay Türbesi. He is also possibly the patron of the adjoining Gökmedrese.
