<p>View toward the Sehercehaja Bridge with Inat Kuća and the minaret of Hajji's Mosque on the right</p>
<p>The Alija Djerzeleza kuća was constructed in the 17th century and includes two walled courtyards close to the structure as well as a large orchard that extends to the south and west. The northern wall of the house forms the edge of the street to the north. The house was owned by the Cejvan family for an extended period. Conservation and restoration work began in the late 1990s and more detailed work on structural stabilization and interior and trim work was ongoing in 2004. The work was overseen by the Cantonal Institute for the Protection of Cultural, Historical, and Natural Heritage of Sarajevo.</p>
<p>The Svrzina kuća is a complex of buildings, courtyards and gardens. The earliest building was built in the 17th century by the Glodjo (Glođo) family but was destroyed in a major fire; the complex was rebuilt in the 18th century and inherited by the Svrzo family. This courtyard, served the haremluk, the women's and family domain of the dwelling. The section of the building forming the north end of the courtyard contains storage rooms on the ground level and a divanhana (open porch), kamerija (raised platform), two čardaks (sitting and sleeping rooms), and a čardačić (girls' living room) on the upper level.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Sagrdžije Ulica has a number of significant structures facing onto it. The building complex on the near right is the Hadži Sinanova Tekija that was constructed in 1708. The tekija has an important place in the history of Sarajevo and has gone through a number of restorations and conservation initiatives. Below the tekija, on the right, is the Alija Djerzeleza kuća.</p>
<p>The Hadži-Šabanovića kuca is a complex of buildings dating from the 18th century within an old mahala (neighborhood) on Očaktanum Ulica (formerly Kozaračka Ulica 3). The complex contains an entry courtyard (selamluk) with stair access to men's living areas above, a doorway into the women's courtyard (haremluk) with kitchen and living spaces on the ground level and stairways to a divanhana, čardaks, and a tower space above. Beyond the women's courtyard (to the southwest) is an orchard that gives access to storage spaces in the foundation of the building.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This stećak is an important tombstone of the region. Scholars contend that it was made during the 14th century and served as the tombstone of the medieval Bosnian King Stjepan II who died in 1353. The illustrations of buildings on the end are believed to be some of the earliest representations of Bosnian domestic structures. The stećak was found in Donja Zgošća near Kakanj, approximately 50 kilometers north of Sarajevo along the Bosna River. The tombstone now sits in the garden of the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Museum in Sarajevo.&nbsp;</p>
<p>These drawings, developed from more detailed documents, illustrate the buildings and open spaces that make up the complex. The two courtyards (with their long axes north-south) are paved with cobblestones. The two storey buildings contain the selamluk (men's section), on the left of each plan, and the haremluk (women's section), on the right of each plan. Although these sections touch one another, access to the family courtyard is only reached through a single passage (araluk). The narrower courtyard (men's courtyard) is entered from the street.
