This house is only used by the owner on weekends so the ground floor and outdoor spaces remain open to neighbours five afternoons a week. It is therefore transformed into a community facility. The building has been designed in response to the climate. Each room has light and air from at least two sides. Cross ventilation is achieved in all internal spaces. Architecturally, four sides of the building are treated with equal emphasis, as if the building has four front sides. It has been built with a small footprint to save open land. 'Ghat' (steps) link the building with a pond.
