This three-unit residential building located in the south of Isfahan takes its inspiration from Iranian history and culture to stand apart from the homogenous, bland housing that is ubiquitous in the city. The design concept is based on square modules or cubes that are placed to form a series of solids and voids. The interior spaces are connected through several multi-functional square courtyards and terraces for circulation and interaction on each floor, which are covered in wooden screens to afford privacy to the interior spaces while still letting in light and air. The building has a roof garden, and a sunken pool in the main courtyard on the ground floor.
