The design for the Baghdad Stadium, capable of hosting a crowd of 8000, was developed by Hisham Munir and Associates as an athletics facilities. The design drew from existing models of athletic facilities designed for olympic sport. The stadium included spaces for track, field, soccer, swimming, and tennis.
