Mahadin Residence
Amman, Jordan
The project is a high-income private residence. The original house layout consisted of three bedrooms with a total built area of 120 m2. To make a stronger entry statement, the architects added a porch and two gateways along the street front. The concrete rendering of the exteriors was removed and the exteriors were re-rendered. To maximize the space available from the 5m set-backs around the house, a 45 degrees angular scheme was used to characterize the exterior design elements, and define the seating boundaries. The flat areas which used to serve as children's playground, were made into seating areas and a sunken parking space.
