These 50-storey residential towers accommodate 1848 apartments and 7400 residents at a density of 275,000 persons per square kilometre. As such they represent a new venture in high-density living. The seven towers snake their way through the site, oriented to maximise western exposure while maintaining privacy. Ninety percent of the project is constructed of pre-cast concrete panels that provide diversity and individuality in the facades as buyers selected ‘plug-ins’ - balconies, planters, bay windows - to suit their needs. The overall effect of the repetition of similar modules was inspired by Bach’s fugues. The complex includes extensive community facilities, sky-parks and sky-gardens, and captures stunning views of the cityscape.
